Rodeo cowboy getting off his horse in an arena.
Rory Wagner was born in 1981 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a self-taught artist who lived in Europe and was influenced by Dutch Master Jan Vermeer and Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte. Wagner likes to paint on large canvases and he says he rubs rather than brushes the pigment onto the gesso surface. Wagner says,"I like drama" and this rodeo calf roper is a good example of that feeling.
A rodeo calf-roper must dismount in a hurry and tie three of the animal's legs together with the "pigin'string". This cowboy is in a race against time.
Rory Wagner was born in Florida and lived in Europe, where he taught himself to paint after studying the great art in museums. He likes drama and likes to paint large canvases.
